Assassin's Creed 3 Reveals New Female Killer, Battleships, Multiplayer

More exciting updates were revealed for Assassin's Creed 3 including a new female assassin, naval battleships, and multiplayer mode.

Ubisoft announced that Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation will be coming to the PlayStation Vita.  The latest version of Assassin's Creed will feature a different protagonist instead of Connor, the main hero in the console version of Assassin's Creed III.

Assassin's Creed's first woman protagonist named Aveline de Grandpre will travel throughout New Orleans during the Louisiana Rebellion.  Players will control Aveline as she uses an array of weapons from pistols, machetes, blowpipes, and a concealed assassin's blade.  Players will also experience large expansive environments with familiar gameplay  such as running, climbing, fighting, and exploring the entirety of New Orleans.

The console version of Assassin's Creed 3 showed off its multiplayer mode with a playable demo.  Players will have the option of deathmatch modes along with playing together in teams.  Strategy and stealth are key to success as gamers work in stealth to accomplish successful assassinations using an array of items and abilities.

Assassin's Creed 3 multiplayer demo may just be the beginning of a rumored MMO, massively multiplayer online, version in the works.  Sighted job postings from Ubisoft indicated that the company was seeking developers to work on a next generation inline RGP. . The job posting also included requirements of having experience in developing games with competitive multiplayer with additional bonus if the candidate has experience in online RPG and also in playing PvP at a high level in a major MMO or similar competitive online games.

Beyond slaying enemies in multiplayer mode, players will experience battle at sea as Assassin's Creed 3 introduces its new naval war gameplay.  Controlling your own wooden battleship, gamers will coordinate their crew to fire a variety of cannonballs at opposing British ships.  The success of naval battle relies on reload time and how well players can handle the natural elements.  Certain cannon shots can delay the enemies reload time while others decimate heavy damage, including a fireball cannon shot.  Aside from firing shots, crew members can board ships for some hand to hand combat.

Ubisoft's new additions to Assassin's Creed 3 will accompany the game's Anvil engine for enhanced in-game interaction.  Fans can expect new fluid action and techniques in how Connor attacks his target.  Players can cut through multiple soldiers in one motion and then proceeds to the next target for a combo attack.  Connor will also have plenty of interaction with surrounding environments such as climbing trees for stealth opportunities and  using enemies as human shields against zipping bullets.  This gives players a glimpse at how fluid the character's movements are and its quick-paced interaction with the surrounding environments.

Assassin's Creed 3 is set to be released on October 30, 2012 for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.  Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation is also set to be release along Assassin's Creed 3 on October 30th.
