Radiation Island Update Adds Inverted Y Axis Controller Support; Massive Upcoming Patch To Include New Perspective And Housing Options

The hit mobile survival title Radiation Island has gotten a brand new shiny, mid-level update today.

While there is no new content to speak of - enemies, locations, weapons, etc - the update does bring the long sought after inverted Y-axis option for players. A member of Atypical Games, the company developing the game, posted on Toucharcade: "Even if it's been a long review time the changes are not that big, we've just added the invert Y option for controls, lighten up a bit the night and the food requirements in Adventure mode. Removed crashes related to vehicles and also (hopefully) the bug which erased progression with an ugly crash."

"The input is also slightly smoothed now and the movement of the dpad allows for full analog movement for strafing."

So, this update isn't the most earth shattering. But the next update, however, is a different beast entirely.

"Right now the plan is to continue work on a bigger update which should be due in 1-2 months with full 3rd person support and some real estate development: crafting and deployment of improvised housing."

Rickety lean-tos! Tree forts! Any other kind of temporary woodland lodging you can create before the island's zombies consume you.

Radiation Island is available now on iOS for $2.99. The game puts you in the shoes of a member of the famed Philadelphia Experiment - only in this timeline, the project works, and you are transported to an alternate reality, an island
