The Order 1886 Tops U.K. Sales Chart, Pushes Past Evolve And Call Of Duty Advanced Warfare In Opening Week

The Order: 1886 was met with medicore reviews upon release, with critics mainly deriding its lack of originality and length. There's still a decent game to be found (and enough interest or preorders, it seems), leading to some chart-topping sales numbers.

Driveclub's Free PlayStation Plus Edition May Never Arrive

VG24/7 reports that Sony's PlayStation 4 exclusive has climbed to the top of the U.K. game sales for the week ending February 21. In doing so, The Order: 1886 has passed 2K's new multiplayer shooter Evolve and the ever-popular Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

It will be interesting to see if this feat is repeated in other regions or there's something unique about the U.K.'s interest in the game (it is set in London, I suppose). Perhaps more noteworthy will be if The Order: 1886 can retain a top spot on the charts. Critical reception has cooled its reputation, and the same level of sales may not continue for another week or two. Pre-orders and very passionate fans have been accounted for, and lackluster reviews plus concern over its length could very well have an impact on prolonged interest.

Topping the charts is still impressive, especially when you consider the game is a console exclusive--bumping the multi-platform Evolve and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is that much harder. Below is the sales chart in question, and we'll have to wait and see if The Order can keep its place near the top.
