Mortal Kombat X Fighters Johnny Cage And Kenshi Prematurely Confirmed In Interview

The list of Mortal Kombat X fighters continues to grow, with the iconic Johnny Cage confirmed through a GDC video interview.

A Free Card-Battle Mortal Kombat X Hybrid Is Coming To Mobile

Warner Bros has since requested that all instances of that video be pulled off the internet for copyright reasons, but the Cage reference (and a possible Kenshi confirmation as well) was reported by multiple sources such as IGN. The video was a Game Crate interview with NetherRealm Studios senior producer Adam Urbano.

"You'll get to play as Johnny Cage, but we're also showing Cassie Cage, who is the daughter of Sonya and Johnny," Urbano had said in the video. "You'll get a chance to see Kenshi and a chance to see a couple more."

The total character count would be up to 20 with both Cage and Kenshi, and you can pretty safely assume at least one of those is definitely coming based on these comments. Urbano may have spoken early about something he wasn't supposed to quite yet, but he surely didn't discuss a character that doesn't exist.

We might not see Cage or Kenshi footage for while yet, but you can bet on appearances in the game. Check back for news of any official announcements and gameplay footage as the release date approaches. Mortal Kombat X will be released worldwide on April 14 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. You can watch the latest trailer below.
