Street Fighter 5 Release Date Rumors: PS4 Exclusive May Be Out In Spring Of 2016

Don't Panic, But Street Fighter V May - Or May Not - Be Out In Spring Of Next Year. Maybe.

We've been waiting a long, long time for Street Fighter V to arrive and as it turns out, we're just going to have to wait a little bit longer.

The highly anticipated non-hyper-mega-super-awesome-kickass-edition entry into the beloved fighting franchise will be hitting next gen in "spring of 2016" according to a Capcom merchandising release this past weekend at PAX East.

Further investigation by Polygon revealed that "What was listed was just a tentative release time and no official announcements have been made."

Basically, a fancy way of saying 'We will release things all in good time, but don't get too excited because this is AAA game and we want to keep the level of Day One shenanigans down to a minimum, so if we have to delay the game a bit, we're going to make damn sure you can't all whine about how yet another developer is once again missing its release date.'

At least, that's what I assume the thought process was like.

Street Fighter V is currently planned as an absolutely "exclusive" game for the PS4 and Windows. Once again, this is a matter of 'I'll believe it when I see it'.

Not much else is know about the game overall. It will employ the same 2D visuals from Street Fighter IV and includes several of the classic characters - Ryu, Chun Li - but Capcom has been very tight lipped about the whole thing. Which makes absolute sense, because Street Fighter V isn't coming out until Spring of 2016 at the earliest.

So relax, don't worry too much. It will be here when it will be here, no sooner or later.
