Steam Ubisoft Weekend Sale Includes Great Deals On Child Of Light, Far Cry, And More

After the online troubles persisted for months, 343 announced that it would be giving early adopters Halo 3: ODST free when it comes to The Master Chief Collection. Today we see our first image from the campaign, above, running on Xbox One.

The content will be free to anyone who purchased The Master Chief Collection between its November 11 launch and December 19. Halo 3: ODST, originally released in 2009 between Halo 3 and Halo Reach, will be upgraded to 1080p and 60fps. It was not included in the collection due to its nature as a spinoff rather than one of the main Master Chief entries and was meant to be optional, but now early adopters will get it at now cost.

Those who qualify for those requirements will also get the Halo 2 Anniversary map Relic, shown in the image below. 343 plans to keep the good times coming, and thanks fans for their support:

"Thank you for your support, patience, and engaged feedback since we launched Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Our most recent content update has normalized and improved matchmaking and the in-game experience for the majority of fans. We at 343 are continuing to work to improve that experience with the Master Chief Collection. Your passion for Halo is what has fueled our team these past months and inspired the project in the first place.

"We have another content update coming in April (we'll be doing some things on the server side to help improve the experience between updates), and we'll provide more details as we get closer to launch. We have an ongoing commitment to our fans to make this experience the best it can be. We want fans playing and enjoying this collection for years, and you'll continue to see improvements to the experience in the coming months to support that goal."
