Bloodborne Patch 1.02 Fixes Lunarium Key Progress Bug And Item Duplication Glitch, No Load Time Improvements

'Bloodborne' Patch 1.02 Fixes Progression Bug & Item Duplication Glitch, Still No Load Time Improvements

From Software has today released patch 1.02 for Bloodborne, short on patch notes but impactful in its fixes.

Bloodborne Review Roundup: Is From Software's New IP As Challenging & Deep As Dark Souls?

Bloodborne launched relatively problem free, but there have been a few issues for players early on. Fortunately, some of these have already been addressed by updates.

The most troublesome and game-breaking bug was definitely one that halted player progress altogether by simply not spawning a key needed to progress to the next area. Sony suggested a workaround at the time, but worry no longer--patch 1.02 has expressly fixed this issue. In fact, this is the only fix explicitly named in the patch notes (see the image below from DualShockers).

The only other portion of the patch notes is general "bug fixes", which could affect a variety of areas in the game. One big change this has made, players noticed, is that the item duplication glitch has been removed. No more easy item duping, which frankly makes the game a lot easier and arguably less fun--it's back to the grind for you.

One change that hasn't come to Bloodborne in this patch is improved load times, probably the number one complaint about the title as things stand. Particularly in a game that will force you to die and load frequently, waiting extra long on load screens is tedious. Fortunately the developers have already said they're looking into it, but that did not make it into this patch. Stay tuned for news of the next update.
