Blackrock Mountain: A Hearthstone Adventure is now live!

Blizzard Always Has The Best April Fools' Jokes

After a long wait, the second single player campaign for Blizzard's insanely popular CCG Hearthstone is now available here in the Americas. Blackrock Depths, the first wing of the planned five wing set is now available for purchase (sadly, unlike the first wing in The Curse of Naxxramas, the initial dungeon is not free). Each subsequent week will unlock a new wing of the expansion.

Players can purchase the wings now and have them (more or less) ready to go as soon as they go live.

Blackrock Depths will have players going up against three notable villains in WoW lore, including the enigmatic (and mad) Emperor Thaurissian - who kind of made the mistake of summoning Ragnaros all those years ago.

All told, Blackrock Mountain adds 31 new cards to Hearthstone, most of which revolve around the heat and horror of that terrible place. Dragon cards are rampant and it is a solid reminder that if you can't stand the heat, get out of the mountain.

Blizzard revealed the new cards over the course of many weeks, teasing us with new mechanics (certain cards now proc because of other cards in your hand) and familiar faces (hey Rend Blackhand, I remember you. I didn't like you in WoW and I sure as hell don't like you now). We've covered and discussed many of them before, getting a look at some of the dragon and fire-heavy cards and characters (HERE, HERE) that await players when they descend into the heart of the mountain. But there are oh so many wonders to be found, like Nefarian himself, Chromaggus and everyone's favorite punching bag, Majordomo Executus (a great end gamer) You may now proceed to build up your dream decks accordingly.

The expansion hits European and Asian servers tomorrow. Good luck in the depths. Tell us how you're faring in the comments below!
