Enjoy The Beautiful 'Project CARS' Launch Trailer

With its release approaching at the end of this week, Bandai Namco has posted a launch trailer for Project CARS.

Full May Video Game Release Schedule For All Systems

The gorgeous current generation-only racing sim is set for release this Friday, May 8, on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Several previous release dates for Project CARS have been delayed already, but it seems like this one will finally stick given how close we now are.

The title Project CARS isn't just a stylization choice--it stands for Community Assisted Racing Simulator. This is due to the game's unique origins, funded by fans rather than a traditional publisher (Bandai Namco is now on board, presumably to help distribute the game). Fans were able to purchase Tool Packs that allowed roles in development such as Q&A, content creation, and more. Even better, qualified members will get a share of profits generated within the first three years for their role in getting the title off the ground.

The launch trailer walks you through the features and content in the game while showing off its stellar visuals (most likely the PC version). The bullet points include the 100 unique tracks, content created by 80,000 fans, collaboration with real pro racing drivers, and more. Project CARS is planned for eventual release on Wii U, SteamOS, and Linux. Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game were originally planned, by later cancelled.
