'Destiny House Of Wolves' Launch Trailer Released: See The New Challenges That Await You In The Reef [VIDEO]

'Destiny: House Of Wolves' Expansion Launch Trailer Shows Off The New Challenges That Await You In The Reef

Bungie has released a launch trailer for Destiny's House of Wolves expansion, which is finally set to arrive on May 19.

House Of Wolves' Prison Of Elders Gear And Rewards System Explained

The video, below, begins with the same teaser cinematic that introduced the expansion a few weeks back. The Fallen trusted by the Awoken Queen betrayed her, and she's opening The Reef to Guardians for a mission of revenge.

The trailer goes on to show plenty of gameplay, outlining the additions players can expect to see in House of Wolves. This includes more story missions, the Prison of Elders cooperative arena mode, Trials of Osiris Crucible mode, and plenty of new gear. All of this will come with the Expansion Pass ($34.99) for those who purchased, which also grants access to the first expansion, The Dark Below.

The Best Legendary Weapons In Destiny Across Each Gun Type

The House of Wolves can be purchased separately for $19.99, though my recommendation would be as follows: if you're going to bother with either expansion and commit many hours to Destiny, you're better served just getting the Expansion Pass. Yes it's pricier, but you'll be locked out of certain content and progression will be confusing and clumsy. The pass is also discounted compared to buying each expansion on its own.

Bungie also has patch 1.2.0 pending, which will mainly update The Crucible ahead of House of Wolves. The update has hit a snag in release, but it will double Reputation and Mark rewards for each match, add Etheric Light (a new material for the expansion), and make a few other changes.

In the meantime, you can also check out this video preview of the expansion, which outlines each mode in a bit more detail. Enjoy the launch trailer below--only a few more days until The Reef, Guardians.
