Nintendo's Popular Webcast Nintendo Direct Will Continue

Nintendo's popular webcast, Nintendo Direct, took a halt after former Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata died. The Nintendo Direct was an instant hit and it is also somewhat directly tied to the late executive as he was the face and the voice of the program.

For most of the time, big announcements and updates such as new Nintendo games, hardware, amiibo, and a whole lot of Nintendo offerings, were announced on the webcast, and after major announcements was proclaimed on other avenues, supporters of the Nintendo Direct hinted that the program will never grace the light of days again.

However, Nintendo recently announced that the Nintendo Direct will continue. At this point, the legendary game console maker has to provide the details of who will take over Satoru Iwata's place and the topics that will be discussed on the program.

In related news, Nintendo has also recently announced the company's newest CEO, and to anyone's surprise it was a lesser known and figure in the organization. Not to downsize or downplay Nintendo's newest CEO, but all the while, experts are looking for Nintendo to name the man behind the iconic and legendary titles like Mario, Donkey Kong, and Legend of Zelda as their newest CEO but they opted to with another executive, Tatsumi Kimishima.

Kimishima served as the company's CFO of their Pokémon arm until he was named as Nintendo's CEO for the North America region. Previous to that, he held numerous positions with Nintendo and was responsible for the success of their Pokémon brand.

The now CEO of Nintendo will have a big shoe to fill in considering Iwata's feat, most especially the success of the Wii game console who had received good numbers on both sales and followers. Although, Iwata was criticized with Nintendo's Wii U gaming console, he was on expected to rise once again with the upcoming Nintendo NX, but unfortunately, he died before the start of its production.

Kimishima on the other hand, will bank heavily on the upcoming Nintendo NX but is expected to focus more on their venture with the Pokémon Go, which will give gamers a whole new gaming experience. In addition, it is also expected for Kimishima to take over Iwata's role in the Nintendo Direct.
