Patent Revealed Nintendo NX's Controller

Patent Revealed Nintendo NX's Controller

Since Iwata's confirmation of an upcoming Nintendo game console, the clamor for it or at least information about it never died. However, with Iwata's sudden death, the project or information about it almost went with him, but thankfully, Nintendo has again releasing developments about the upcoming Nintendo NX.

Just recently, a report from VC Post confirmed that Nintendo applied for a patent for the looming Nintendo NX that will give the console the ability to sync itself with a handheld device or devices. With this news, tech experts and gamers are thinking that the Nintendo NX will rock a controller with two face buttons and two joysticks.

The claim was backed up by an earlier report by Forbes saying that the controller will be an operational apparatus that will come with the two face buttons and two joysticks. However, there are also some reports that the controller will also rock a d-pad with a big second screen right at the center.

Nintendo was very secretive about the project, most especially when Iwata is still the boss but was later on releasing tidbits about the project, which is very understandable, because other gaming consoles like PlayStation and Xbox are pretty much doing the same.

Another point in case that experts and gamers are trying to uncover is the question, will the Nintendo NX allow third party titles to be playable in their device? This has been the question that was thrown at Nintendo since the emergence of its competitors and, unfortunately, Nintendo has yet to answer the question or invite the idea of it.

Unlike the PlayStation and Xbox, Nintendo game consoles are pretty much tight in allowing other game titles to be played in their devices, which basically made them a front runner to back burner, with regard to the game console war. But who knows, the time is changing; Nintendo's gesture in providing little information of their Nintendo NX is a progress. So seeing a third party in Nintendo is not a far-fetched idea after all.
