Xbox One Update Includes Party Improvements and More

The busy holiday season is finally over and now, Microsoft can focus on more important things like some Xbox One features. Yes, members of the Preview program can now be the first to experience the improvements and add-ons starting later today.

Microsoft's first update to the Xbox One this year will revive an important feature with a couple of more stuff along with it. Xbox One users have always complained about the inability to see who is in a party chat before joining, Microsoft plans to take action and correct this annoyance. Xbox One preview members will now start to see party details with a new update rolled out today. Other regular users will start to receive this update in a couple of weeks.

This update particularly focused on social features linking from console to PC. Other features that will be implemented this month include the ability to see who's in a party before joining, Twitch broadcasts that users can join, new Friend Suggestions area in your Community and Friends lists, comparing gamerscore, and other assorted tweaks and adjustments that were meant to make the Preview feel more like the classic player's Dashboard we're used to from the Xbox 360.

Microsoft is also adding a new Gamerscore leaderboard option, the option will give you a better idea on how good your Gamerscore is compared to your Xbox Live friends. The option will highlight who has the biggest Gamerscore gains over a 30 day period. If you are really particular with your Gamerscore stats, then this section will be of great use to you, but for everyone else it's a quick reminder that you have not been playing much Xbox One games.
