‘Tom Clancy’s The Division’ News & Update: Ubisoft To Address Cheats And Bug Exploits

Ubisoft and Red Storm have just about enough with the cheat engines and system exploits being used by "Tom Clancy's The Division" players to improve their rankings. Now, the developer has drawn the line in the sand and warned players: stop now or else.

In a long missive published on its website, "The Division" team warned that all the cheating has caused the disruption in the game. As a result, faithful fans have complained of less than stellar experience.

To address the cheating and bug exploits in "Tom Clancy's The Division," Ubisoft adopted newer detection methods to catch cheaters in the act. And its new system seemed to be working as they claimed to have caught more players trying to cheat the system in the past few days, compared to the previous weeks.

Being caught is not without consequences as they will serve as examples for others. "We will be handing out the biggest wave of suspensions and bans to date over the course of the next few days," the team promised.

For those who are caught for the first time, they will be suspended for two weeks, Attack of the Fanboy reported. That's a significant improvement from the previous three days. When they try to cheat "The Division" for the second time, they will be banned from playing the game for life.

As to the bug exploits of "Tom Clancy's The Division," Ubisoft said that the system is constantly being tested and retested to lessen the damage caused by these glitches. A bug exploit is defined as a tool to side-step the rules to skip steps of "gain a significant advantage."

But Ubisoft is quick to note that fixing these bug exploits is easier said than done, that's why it enjoined the community to take an active role in reporting cases. Again, players who take advantage of the bug exploits in "Tom Clancy's The Division" will be meted sanctions, which will depend on the severity of the transgression.

Here's a look at a walkthrough of "The Division:"
