Periscope Will Now Let Users Keep Live Streams Forever

Periscope is following their rival Facebook's footsteps. The live streaming app is now testing a feature that will allow users to save their broadcasts forever. Previously, broadcasts disappeared after 24 hours. This new move is an attempt to attract more brand and advertisers to the app.

It takes time and hard work to make a good video content, so many users, creators and brands were turned off by Periscope for the 24-hour broadcast life span puts their effort to waste, making them uninspired to create more interesting live streams. Now, users can explore their creativity as they can now save their clips and making them feel that broadcasting is worth the effort.

According to The Verge, Kayvon Beykpour, chief executive of Periscope said that the app had been "actively building support for controlling how your broadcasts stay on Periscope." He also shared that the company is working on a solution and create options for those who want to save their live streams longer than a day and also for "some people who want their broadcasts to be deleted more quickly."

To save the Periscope broadcast is actually plain and simple. All a Periscope user has to do is to add "#Save" to their broadcast title and it will stay online forever unless the user will delete it. Beykpour announced on the app's official Twitter account the launch of the latest feature of Periscope as a public beta. He then explained that they are still working on a full solution that won't require users to add the hashtag anymore to their Periscope title.

It only makes sense that Periscope is changing their ways for the better to keep up with the users' demands because people are always after new trends. Facebook knows exactly what these demands are all about as they went out of their way paying to get influential people and brands to use Facebook Live, which is the app's live streaming feature as reported by Recode.
