'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare' Release Updates: Pro Players Behind Game's Development; New Screenshots Reveal Similarities To 'Black Ops 3'

Game developer Infinity Ward recently provided some details about its upcoming first-person shooter, “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.” It was revealed that pro players are helping shape the new game. New screenshots were also provided which showed that there will be a number of similarities to “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.”

Infinity Ward tweeted that those who already played “Black Ops 3” before will find their version of the chain-based fluid movement system very natural and familiar.

According to Gamepur, “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” will release on Nov. 4, 2016 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. More updates and details are expected soon.

Games Radar revealed that professional “Call of Duty” players were also invited to help develop the upcoming title. Jay Puryear, Activision eSports brand development director, said that the pro gamers help with spawning, tuning, weapons, content and maps, since they play at a very high level. Compared to other developers, Infinity Ward is building its multiplayer mode from scratch. The pro players will help provide the necessary information that will make fluid maps, offer great content and provide overall balance.

VG247 noted that the method of having pro gamers recommend details for “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” is a new approach. Traditionally, statistics and heat maps were used to gather data in developing games, although these can be difficult to acquire ahead of the general release. The input provided by expert eSports gamers can help reduce initial tuning and patches required in the weeks after the big launch.

The game developer recently released a game trailer for “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare,” although it has been receiving several negative reactions from users. Fans were disappointed that the series took on a sci-fi future setting again, instead of going for modern-day location. The expensive special editions, without any option of purchasing the game separately, has also turned off a lot of potential players. Infinity Ward may make a few adjustments before the official launch to cater to gamer responses.

The trailer did show some great graphics and some of the advanced weaponry and vehicles that players get to use in the new game. There will even be some outer space action and anti-gravity battles as shown in the video.

Gamepur stated that “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” will release on Nov. 4, 2016 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. More updates and details are expected soon.
