Galaxy C Series Release Date, News & Update: Samsung To Unveil New Galaxy C5, C7 Next Week [VIDEO]

Samsung is all set to unveil a new line of smartphones next week with the expected launching of the Samsung Galaxy C Series. The Samsung Galaxy C5 and C7 are the handsets expected to pilot the new series.

Samsung will be hosting an event on May 26 which is expected to unveil the new Samsung Galaxy C Series in China. Two handsets are expected to break the ice for Samsung and these are the Galaxy C5 and the Galaxy C7. Both are expected to be categorized in the upper mid-range segment.

The similarities and differences

The two variants offer practically the same specs except for their respective screen sizes and batteries. The Samsung Galaxy C5 will offer a 5.2-inch FHD display along with a 2,800 mAh battery while the Galaxy C7 variant will sport a larger 5.7-inch FHD display and a larger 3,300 mAh battery.

As for their common specs, both variants will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 SoC, 4 GB of RAM, up to 64 GB of internal storage, a 16 MP main camera and an 8 MP front-facing shooter. They will come with Android 6.0.1 Marsmallow out of the box.

On the outside, it remains to be seen if the previous rumors tied up to their aesthetics will be as mentioned. That would include devices wrapped in a curved all-metal shell based on previous leaks.

Pricing and availability

The Samsung Galaxy C5 will be priced at $245 while the C7 will cost about $276. While the two devices are expected to be readily available in China next week, it remains to be seen if the two will emerge in the global market.

The new devices should offer something interesting to the folks looking for an alternative mid-range phone, both of which are offered at a pretty affordable price. But all that can only happen if Samsung decides to bring the C series in the international scene or at least in the nearby Asian regions.
