Samsung Galaxy Note 6 vs Galaxy S8: Top 5 Specs Differences - Release Date, Price & Features [Rumors]

Samsung's latest smartphones are living their life under the limelight, but speculations over their successors are churning hard within rumor mills. Apparently, word over the Galaxy Note 6 and Galaxy S8 are already everywhere, so we're taking a look at the most interesting differences said so far.

Galaxy Note 6 vs Galaxy S8: Release Date and Price

The Galaxy Note 6 is believed to launch later this year, considering release of previous iterations. Trusted Reviews predicts an August or September appearance, October being the latest. The device may be priced around £625 (approximately $907), the outlet says.

On the other hand, the Galaxy S8 is naturally purported to arrive next year, around the annual Mobile World Congress. Digital Spy suggests keeping an eye on a late February or early March 2017 unveiling. In terms of price, the device is not expected to come cheaper than its predecessor, which currently sells at $670.

Galaxy Note 6 vs Galaxy S8: 5 Specs Differences

Display

Smartphone displays are always interesting to compare. Rumors have it that the Galaxy Note 6 will sport a 5.8-inch QHD display, with talks of a curved build which may or may not be another companion. Pocket-lint also cites word over an alleged Galaxy Note 6 Lite, but we're yet to hear more about it.

The Galaxy S8, meanwhile, is speculated to have a QHD display starting from 5.1-inches. Galaxy S devices have always been smaller than their Note counterparts. Interestingly, BGR cites another rumor which pegs a 2.5K Super AMOLED display.

Camera

The Galaxy Note 6 is purported to house a 20MP rear camera, Trusted Reviews notes. This is in contrast with another Weibo report, Pocket-lint says, which cites a main snapper that shoots at 12MP, packed with a "Super OIS Plus" feature.

ValueWalk expects the Galaxy S8 to have an 18MP main camera that comes with "faster focus and brighter LED." If these details hold truth, the next Galaxy handsets are indeed going to battle it out in photography.

Processor

Under the hood, the Galaxy Note 6 allegedly comes in two versions that offer different processors: a a custom-built Exynos 889 and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 SoC/Snapdragon 823. Reports of a RAM worth 6GB have been fairly consistent.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S8 is said to come in Exynos and Qualcomm chips as well. A 6GB RAM is also touted.

Battery

A massive 4,000mAh battery is believed to power the next Galaxy Note. It is not impossible for the next Galaxy S to pack a similar powerhouse, ValueWalk says. Such battery is already seen inside XOLO's Era 4K and Huawei's Y6 Pro, so we're curious to find out Samsung's take on its next devices.

Other Features

Both devices are reported to have USB-Type C ports, waterproofing and interestingly, foldability feature. However, it is worth mentioning that foldability could debut in another device dubbed as the Galaxy X, Digital Trends reports.
