Minecraft's MineCon Going to Disneyland...in Paris

It was hinted before that the next Minecon would be held somewhere in Europe, but now we know exactly where it is, courtesy of a promotional video posted on YouTube featuring Markus "Notch" Persson and some of the rest of the Minecraft staff.

In true Parisian fashion, Minecon 2012 is headed to Disneyland.

Going to Europe makes all the sense in the world. After Minecon's humble beginnings in Bellevue, Washington, followed by a much more impressive reception in Las Vegas, it's only fitting they give European miners a taste of the fun.

Last year's Minecon featured close to 5,000 attendants. As one of the largest gaming audiences in the world with over 36 million registered users, the expected attendance for this year should be even bigger number, which Disney Paris should have no problem holding. The entire complex is host to 7 resort hotels, as well as 6 associated hotels.

Mojang and company will hold the annual Minecraft convention at the theme park on November 24 and 25. Like past 'cons, expect keynote speeches, build contests, costume contests, and separate panels on specific Minecraft topics.

Mojang will open up registration for tickets and accommodation "soon." Someone tell Mickey to keep his giant ears open for that distinctive creeper hiss.
