'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2' Trailer, News & Update: Release Slated This Year?

"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" had been a hype subject for gamers for quite awhile, but Bandai Namco remained tight-lip about the highly-anticipated game until this month. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 fans finally got the release date update that we all wait in great anticipation and it's sooner than you might think.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 release date

After Bandai Namco released a teaser trailer, fans were on the edge of their seats trying to figure out when will they get their hands on the much-awaited game. First, the arcade, mobile and home video game publisher revealed that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will be available for PS4, Xbox One and PC, now they finally hinted a Winter 2016 release date, at least in Japan, Anime News Network reports.

Cross Map noted that although Bandai Namco didn't mention any release date for territories of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 gamers outside Japan, basing on their release of Dragon Ball Xenoverse back in 2015 where they debuted the game first in Japan, then in the United States and the U.K. a few weeks later. With that observation, it is probably safe to say that all Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 gamers will be able to enjoy the highly-anticipated game this coming Winter.

Now that it is confirmed that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 gamers in Japan will officially get their hands on the game before the year ends, the only downside is that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will only be available for PS4 in Japan. Famitsu pointed out a very important detail in the Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Japanese trailer, where it showed that it will only be available on one platform.

Bandai Namco has not released a statement as of why Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is exclusive for PS4 in Japan, but it could probably Dragon Ball Xenoverse did poorly on Xbox One and Xbox 360. For the business point of view, it makes a lot of sense to not release Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 on all consoles just because it might cost a lot of money to do that than the money they make from the game.
