The Nintendo NX is the next game console that the company plans to debut next year as it offers a new player in the game console wars. The performance of the latest Nintendo game console is still up in the air as it tries to improve on what the Wii U was unable to accomplish.
While the coming of the Nintendo NX is a welcome development, the business side of things holds another for the company. It does offer gamers another potential game console to consider but how will it fare with rival brands and their rumored new consoles?
Sony will allegedly be offering the PS4 “Neo” while Microsoft has its Xbox One “Scorpio” in the mix meaning it will be a crowded niche by next year with these game consoles to choose from. So what are the chances of Nintendo now with the potential threats?
Right now, Nintendo can breathe a big sigh of relief knowing that the said consoles are all ‘rumored’. While the Nintendo NX is not that different from that classification, they have kept everything under wraps.
But placing Nintendo side-by-side with the two rival brands doesn’t exactly make it a preference for the ones familiar with the game console niche. It has dipped since its impact back in the 90s though it somehow floundered through the years.
With the Nintendo NX, the company gets a chance to rise from the ashes though the path ahead is not that easy. Sony and Microsoft have jumped the gun on Nintendo and the best the latter can do right now is take little steps to regain a fair share of the gaming console market.
A good step to help Nintendo’s fortunes is to improve their working relationship with third-party developers. Together with a new console, the little steps that Nintendo has done could be their ticket back to the top.
