'GTA 5' Release Date, Features, News & Update: 'Liberty City' Returning In Upcoming Game? Things We Know So Far [RUMOR]

Grand Theft Auto fans are running wild right now following the spotting of leaked images that many are suggesting would be “Liberty City” screen shots for "GTA 5."

To those who are unaware, “Liberty City” is a world associated with previous GTA installments (GTA 3 and 4) along with some spin-offs and DLCs. But now, a spotted online portfolio has spurred up rumors that there will be a “Liberty City” coming soon to "GTA 5."

The GTA Forums came across the online portfolio of one “Adrian Page” who ironically matches the name of an artist for Rockstar Games per Linkedin.

It remains to be seen if the user and the real Adrian Page are one and the same though there is the angle that it could be also a prankster trying to pull a fast one and create a stir for the "GTA 5" gamers.

Rumors tying up the possible availability of “Liberty City” for "GTA 5" have long been rumored, thanks mainly to Leslie Benzies, ex-Rockstar North president. He touched on the possibility back in 2012 claiming "one big world containing all our cities [that] let the player fly between them and revisit their favorite areas".

With regards to the alleged screenshot, it could be anything. It could be scrapped content or a mere project that fans would want to see. A closer look at the shots will open the door to plenty of criticism such as the 3D modeled grass which may tie it up to previous versions. The possibilities and theories surrounding it are simply endless.

Among those include possibly tying up the screen shots to Grand Theft Auto 6 which could return to “Liberty City” once more. But this would depend entirely on what game Rockstar plans to work on next.

Seeing however the other games like “Red Dead Redemption” or “Bully” among the possible next game titles, the odds of seeing a GTA VI may not be that high. Whether the screenshots are indeed factual or not remains to be seen and like before.

Only Rockstar can confirm (or deny) if these images have anything to do with GTA V and its planned downloadable contents.
