Kanye West Debuts His First Video Game 'Only One' At E3 2016; How Are People Reacting?

One of the video games that made its debut in E3 2016 is Kanye West's first video game called "Only One." It is a game dedicated to his late mother Donda West.

The game's developers have been working on it for more than a year. It was designed in partnership with Encyclopedia Pictura. The date for its release has not been published as of this writing. However, for Kanye's fans who will be waiting for the game, it is speculated to be out in the near future, possibly within the year.

Kanye describes "Only One" to be a video game about his mother, Donda, who will be traveling through the gates of heaven. He further elaborated that he wanted to spread as much beauty to the world the best that he can, The Verge reported.

The trailer showed what appeared to be souls of people wearing white and gaining their wings as they ascend in the sky. The faceless beings then grow out wings as they go higher. The scene was mostly filled with clouds and light. The main being, which seemed to be a woman, eventually rode a Pegasus. She flew higher in the air and entered what seemed to be the gates of Heaven. Game play of the game was not seen on the trailer.

It may be a sweet gesture to his late mother. However, reactions of people to the video game may not be the same as Kanye expected. On West's "Life of Pablo" event where he also showed the trailer last February, he wanted the viewers of the trailer to be impressed. Kanye was very proud with his creation. However, the audience did not react much. He was not happy with the audience's reaction as well.

In a video clip, he was addressing the crowd and saying that what he showed was not easy to do. He also did not like it that the audience was looking at the trailer as if it was 'regular', Kotaku reported. After which, he played the trailer for the audience to see again

Geoff Keighley, Gameslice's TV host, who was also hosting the E3 event, said that Kanye already previewed his game to last years E3's developers. Keighley said that West had video games affinity even before he blossomed into his hip-hop career. In fact,he will be releasing a single called "Turbo Grafx 16", which is acknowledgement for his favourite gaming system when he was a child.
