‘For Honor’ News & Update: Ubisoft Revealed Cinematic Trailer & Release Date At E3; Watch Brutal Melee Combat Here [Video]

Ubisoft showcased its medieval action game "For Honor" at E3 last Monday, revealing that the single-player mode will be released on February 14, 2017. The cinematic trailer featured brutal melee combat at a Viking campaign mission.

'For Honor' Viking Gameplay Debut

"For Honor" was first announced at last year's E3 however, details about the game was limited. During last year's Tokyo Game Show, Ubisoft revealed one of the characters from the Samurai faction. The game character is named Oni.

IGN said that "For Honor" will allow players to control Samurai and Knight factions. Ubisoft explained that players will fight for their chosen faction against a warlord named Apollyon in order to survive.

Polygon tried out "For Honor," saying it was an intense melee combat. Their 15-minute playthrough will give fans a glimpse of the challenging encounters that await. Check out their gameplay below.

The Melee Combat

Gamerant commended the graphics of "For Honor" that stood out in the trailer Ubisoft released. The trailer featured brutal melee combat that involves swords and axes striking each other with a few warriors losing their limbs in combat.

The "For Honor" trailer also has an apocalyptic feeling with scenes of demolished land and survivors struggling to live. Also, it showed a battle until death among Vikings, Samurais and Knights.

More so, Apollyon made its dramatic appearance in the trailer. Apollyon is actually an angel from the book of Revelation, the ultimate enemy in "For Honor."

The name also means the Destroyer. Its role is to continue the war among the three factions.

"For Honor" will be released on Valentine's Day next year for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Check out the cinematic trailer below:
