Xbox One Latest News & Updates: 'Left 4 Dead 2' and 'Portal 2' now added to Xbox One

Great news for Xbox One gamers, as two more widely popular games can now be played on the platform. Engadget reports that Valve's "Left 4 Dead 2" and "Portal 2", which were both initially released on PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360, is now backwards compatible with the Xbox One. In addition, support for games "Flashback," "Brain Challenge," and "Babel Rising" were also added.

During last year's E3, Microsoft first announced the backwards compatibility of Xbox One, which was implemented during the holidays. The whole list of Xbox One backward compatible games can be found at Major Nelson.

In other Xbox One news, Gamezone reports that the first and second iterations of "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" are coming to the gaming platform. Originally debuting in 2006, "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" was developed by Raven Software for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox and Xbox 360 and was followed by a sequel in 2009.

"There is an innate human characteristic that enjoys being a part of conquering all that opposes you after being there to witness the struggling beginnings," programmer Dan Edwards told RPG Vault in 2007. "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance really shines in this area as there are so many different characters to choose from, any one of which provides a canvas of customization and strategy."

Polygon also reports that Square Enix is looking to bring "Final Fantasy XIV" to Xbox One. Director Naoki Yoshida admitted that Microsoft approached Square Enix about it and the two are now undergoing talks to bring the much loved game to the platform.

Square Enix has already stated their stipulations regarding Microsoft's regulations, and the game developer is now waiting on the latter's response.Meanwhile, can now relive the excitement of "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance," Left Dead 2," and "Portal 2," among several other games on Xbox One.
