Fans of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" gave a lot of appreciation to CD Projekt Red for creating the "Gwent: The Witcher Card Game." The upcoming title was produced in response to the enthusiasts' request for a standalone game.

"Gwent: The Witcher Card Game" is like a virtual board game that can be played in "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt."

It can also run on every platform, from PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows, as per "Gwent" and "Witcher" Wikia.

"Gwent: The Witcher Card Game" is based on the battle of two armies trapped in a deadly fight. In an arena, the players will be the leaders and their cards are their soldiers.

The Making Of 'Gwent'

Marcin Iwinski, CD Projekt Red co-founder, revealed that the making of "Gwent: The Witcher Card Game" was because of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" fans love and enthusiasm for the game.

In fact, Marcin Iwinski explained in a statement that "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" enthusiasts played a big role in pushing CD Projekt Red to develop "Gwent: The Witcher Card Game."

He later gave his gratitude to "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" and "Gwent: The Witcher Card Game" supporters for their non-stop efforts to inspire CD Projekt Red by their endless emails, calls and posts, which he describes as something unusual.

A Triple-A Game

Although it's not yet released, "Gwent: The Witcher Card Game" is now being dubbed as a triple-A game, Gamepur reported.

"The fact that it's happening in itself ... the fact that fans asked for it, the fact that the team was behind it, it wasn't just my call ... I wanted to make a standalone," "Gwent: The Witcher Card Game" lead designer Damien Monnier said.

"People were expecting a simple port; we're doing an AAA," Damien Monnier added.

"Gwent: The Witcher Card Game" is expected to be released in September 2016.
