Former WWE and UFC champion Brock Lesnar will be on the cover of WWE 2K17 when the latest installment comes out in shelves this October.
Lesnar, who will be fighting at UFC 200 next month becomes the only athlete to appear in both a WWE and UFC video game. He previously appeared on UFC Undisputed back in 2010.
WWE 2K17 is set for release on Oct. 11 and is a game that Lesnar manager Paul Heyman calls “unique, different and extraordinary”. Aside from the announcement that Lesnar will be appearing as the cover for the latest 2K game, the only other update is that the upcoming installment will be an improvement from the previous edition.
Fighting Farmer
Brock Lesnar has done so much but continues to fight. Heyman sheds more light on why the “Beast Incarnate” continues to do so – to buy farmland according to Game Spot.
"Brock Lesnar is a farmer. Fighting and performing allows him to buy more farmland."
Aside from Lesnar, another popular wrestler will be playable in-game – Bill Goldberg. The two squared off at Wrestlemania XX with Stone Cold Steve Austin acting as the special guest referee. Goldberg won that match, his last one in the WWE.
With that rare WWE match in mind, it would not be surprising to see gamers pitting both wrestlers once more. As far as Heyman is concerned, “Bill Goldberg will be conquered by Brock Lesnar”.
This could hint that Brock Lesnar will have better attributes than Goldberg in the game. With Lesnar still active in the WWE scene, seeing better stats for the “Beast” hardly comes as a surprise.
On the part of Goldberg, there is no word on whether he would be seen in the WWE scene too. According to an interview with 411Mania, he has not been contacted by the company and that his relationship is limited to the video game for now.
WWE 2K17 will be available for play on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, another game worth looking into this October.
