'Game of Thrones' Season 7 Spoilers: Showrunners Tease The Importance Of The Wall; The Night King's Major Role In The Future

Season 6 of "Game of Thrones" has just concluded, but fans are already speculating about the next events in the storyline. Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss shared some details about "Game of Thrones" Season 7.

In the final episodes of the previous season, a grand battle is about to happen in "Game of Thrones" Season 7 between the Lannisters in King's Landing, the Starks in the North and Daenerys Targaryen.

Also, all those who are eyeing on the Iron Throne need to prepare for the dreadful White Walkers beyond the Wall, led by the Night King.

Benioff explained in an exclusive interview with Deadline that the Wall is not just a physical structure that keeps the army of the dead at bay. The Wildlings managed to make it over the Wall.

It is almost inevitable that the Night King, who is more powerful and controls more troops, can also go over the structure.

Benioff did not divulge more details, although his statements hinted that there may be some form of magic that prevents the undead from crossing, similar to how Benjen Stark can only take Bran to the Wall but cannot go beyond it himself.

The showrunner said that the Night King will have a major role in "Game of Thrones" Season 7.

Fans talked about the Horn of Joramund, which is a device in the novels that holds the power to toppling the Wall. Benioff said that they will not reveal whether it will be part of "Game of Thrones" Season 7

D.B. Weiss said that he does not view the Night King in the same way as other major villains in the story like Ramsey Bolton and Walder Frey.

The Night King in "Game of Thrones" Season 7 is not really human anymore and comparable to Death. The human villains had a choice between good and evil, but the Night King did not have an option since he was created that way.

In certain ways, he is Death, going after everyone, which also makes it proper that he does not speak. Weiss continued that the Night King is just a force of destruction, so they would not think of writing a dialogue for him to avoid diminishing his character.

"Game of Thrones" Season 7 will be moving towards the end game. The showrunners said that they wanted it to be one giant story, and not to extend the show just because people want more.
