'Harry Potter' News: Daniel Radcliffe Still Open To Being Harry Potter In The Future

Here's some news a lot of "Harry Potter" fans should be happy about: Daniel Radcliffe, arguably the franchise's biggest star (right next, of course, to Emma Watson) is pretty much open to portraying the main character again someday, should there be new movies based on the expanding universe of the series.

However, there's a caveat—the script, whoever ends up writing it, has to be rock solid in order for him to agree, he says in an interview with the UK's Radio Times.

"It would depend on the script," says Radcliffe, who's played the titular role in "Harry Potter" for what amounts to pretty much half of his life so far. "The circumstances would have to be pretty extraordinary."

Despite venturing out into so many varied acting gigs just to rid himself of the "Harry Potter" scent, it seems as though fans could never stop equating Radcliffe to his iconic role. He's made films such as "The Woman In Black" and "Now You See Me 2," (which is interesting as the movie is about magicians, naturally connecting to "Harry Potter") and has even gone into controversial roles like his horse-loving character in the stage play "Equus," but he's still Harry Potter to many fans. (It's also tough to shed it if you remain looking like Harry.)

Radcliffe isn't really scheduled for "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them" later this year, as the movie is a prequel to the main series. It's more likely that he could return to play the role of adult Harry in "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," should the play ever have a Hollywood adaptation. And, of course, should J.K. Rowling continue on her current path and keep writing new material for the wizarding world.
