'Suits' Season 6 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: What Will Become Of Pearson Specter Litt And Mike Ross?

USA Network's "Suits" got the eleventh hour renewal for season 6, keeping fans on edge with the shocking events that led up to the season finale back in March. Good thing, the highly anticipated "Suits" season 6 is premiering this Wednesday, and it's picking up right where the show left off earlier this year.

According to creator Aaron Korsh, it didn't make sense to create a time jump between "Suits" season 6 and the previous season, solely for gravity of the events that had occurred, with Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) taking the fall and turning himself in, and eventually, going to jail. Fans also got to see Donna Paulsen (Sarah Rafferty) return to Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), wrapping up any conflict that transpired during the finale of season 4.

It was, however, a dramatic "Suits" season 6 ender for Mike, who not only turned himself in, but also falls short of marrying Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle) when he realizes that his parents were halfheartedly present at their supposed wedding. The next season will definitely shed light on what happens to Mike as he deals with his two-year prison stint, and if he finds a way to (legally) get out.

"[Mike] did what he did to save Harvey and Jessica from going to prison. He cared about the firm a lot, but they can possibly rebuild the firm and their lives," Korsh told The Hollywood Reporter back in March. He added that in "Suits" season 6, there will only be two possibilities: for the crew to fall apart or team up and come back stronger following the events of the finale.

Korsh also told fans not to expect Mike to be out of jail soon, because "Suits" season 6 will be about him dealing with the "new environment" that is prison, a stint that will take quite a while. Even if it will take time, Mike will not focus on getting a law degree. He said that it's "more about him surviving and then he has a turn. There are a few twists and turns."

Whether or not the twists and turns mean that Mike would get out of jail sooner than later remains to be seen. "Suits" season 6 premieres this Wednesday at 9 p.m. on the USA Network.
