Resident Evil: Retribution Director Paul W.S. Anderson To Direct Monster Hunter Movie?

The science fiction horror film series "Resident Evil" based upon the Capcom video game series of the same name, has just released its fifth installment. Paul W. S. Anderson was the writer and director for Sony's "Resident Evil" in 2002. The film was considered by many to be a good video game film adaptation.

Anderson would return to the franchise as the writer and producer for "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" and "Resident Evil: Extinction." He returned as the director for next two installments "Resident Evil: Afterlife" and this year's "Resident Evil: Retribution." It appears that even after a decade of making video game adaptations, Anderson isn't finished with the genre.

According to a recent interview, Anderson wants to turn another Capcom video game franchise, Monster Hunter, into a film franchise. Punch Drunk Critics translated a Japanese interview from Anderson that he did while promoting the latest "Resident Evil" movie.

According to the report Anderson says that he is actively making preparation for the film adaptation of Monster Hunter. There are no details about the project available right now and the studio behind the movies haven't confirmed that the film is in Anderson's hands.

"Resident Evil: Retribution" is the fifth installment in the Resident Evil film series, based on the Capcom survival horror video game series Resident Evil, and the third to be directed by Anderson.

The movie has many returning actors and characters from the video game and film series. An element from Resident Evil 4, a parasite called Las Plagas will play a part in the film. Milla Jovovich stars once again as the protagonist Alice. The film hits theaters on Sept. 14, in 3D and IMAX 3D, as well as 2D.
