WWE Battleground 2016: Latest Predictions, Rumors and Update: Roman Reigns Picked To Win Again

WWE Battleground 2016 is here and while there are tons of action in store for fans, the main event pitting champion Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins is the one many will likely be interested to see.

Brand Split factor

A lot of precedents make the pay-per-view interesting. There is the recently held WWE Draft which saw stars distributed to Raw and SmackDown. Reigns and Rollins are with Raw while the Ambrose landed on Smackdown.

Though Reigns and Rollins don’t get along, it will technically be a two against one in the main event. If Reigns does turn heel, it could be a dramatic twist that has long been awaited for.

Heel-turn may snag title for Reigns

Game N Guide did report yesterday of the possible Reigns heel transformation. Being absent for so long after violating the WWE’s talent wellness policy, many are wondering how the creative team will bring back the “Big Dog”.

Forbes gives an interesting take on the Reigns’ return, believing that the best outcome for the night would be for Reigns to regain the title. But all that will happen only if Reigns turns heel.

With no storyline for Reigns right now, it does seem the logical move. Ambrose and Rollins have been going at it but nothing has helped thus far in the WWE ratings.

If so, the WWE could be best going back to the Reigns’ push though it will be under a different persona. With nothing much to lose, it could be worth a shot.

Where does this leave Rollins?

Rollins has somehow been eased out of the limelight though it could be a ploy for “The Architect” to take it easy for now. Everyone knows he is fresh off injury though some believe he may inadvertently turn face.

Some prefer to see it something similar to a “Steve Austin” kind of an evolution, someone who managed to maintain his heel character and yet hit it well with the fans. Judging by the ovation Rollins has been getting, it could be a sensible expectation.

WWE Battleground kicks off this Sunday at the Verizon Network in Washington starting at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT.
