The Found Easter Eggs of Borderlands 2

First off, SPOILERS. If you don't want to know, then don't bother reading on.

It hasn't even been a week yet since Borderlands 2 hit, but already you guys have been playing 'round the clock, and posting your findings online to see what Pitchford and the rest of the Gearbox team has hidden inside their massive shooter-RPG.

On day one, gamers found a nice little Minecraft dedication. A bit later in the game, you'll come across an area called Caustic Caverns. Inside, there's a set of train tracks. Follow them west until they end, then head north until you see come rocks. Poke around by these rocks, and you'll happen across some Minecraft dirt. Bust through that, and you'll come face to face with one of Minecraft's biggest nuisances of all, the creeper. A whole bunch of 'em in fact. Kill them, and you're rewarded with a Minecraft skin for your character. For a more detailed guide, check the video below!

Lately, another gamer found a nice Dark Souls reference.

Also in the Caustic Caverns is a giggling ghost sitting on a rock. While that may not sound like much, notice that the ghost's name is Solitaire, a reference to Dark Souls' own Solaire of Astora. So far, there doesn't seem to be any sort of reward for reaching him, or a puzzle, but it's still cool nonetheless. Check the video below for directions on how to get to him!

And of course, there's also a slew of references to movies, internet memes, and a particularly risque gun (hint: according to Moxxi, tipping is not a city in China).

Keep playing and let us know what you find! And there will likely be a whole lot more to come to Borderlands 2 as DLC becomes available.
