Samsung’s Gear Fit 2 was revealed a couple of months ago, boasting of a new design and improved features. The wearable fitness tracker was initially placed for pre-order in the United States but now interested buyers can get one via Verizon Wireless.

The Samsung Gear Fit 2 is now available for purchase from the Verizon website for $179.99, a wearable that promises to make life easier for the health buffs. Most notable alone is that standalone feature it carries, meaning folks don’t have to worry about having a smartphone around to make it work.

Further supporting the display and the chipset will be 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of storage and a 200 mAh battery for longer use. As a tracker, the Samsung Gear Fit 2 will come with a heart-rate monitor, a gyroscope, a barometer, accelerometer plus the usual connectivity options – Bluetooth and WiFi.

It also comes with a built-in GPS that should help fitness buffs to map out their route. The 4 GB storage should hold up to 500 songs which owners normally add to their exercise routine. The Samsung Gear Fit 2 will function with an Android smartphone provided that the device runs on Android 4.4. or higher.
