After announcing Samsung Galaxy Note 7 set to launch, the Samsung Galaxy S8 still gets quite attention with new leaks coming out.

Galaxy S8 Codename

Samsung is known for giving codenames for their upcoming mobile phones. Following Galaxy S7 known to be Project Lucky which was released last March 2016, Galaxy S8 will be having the codename "Project Dream." The codename is said to came from a Chinese website source and site that the Android phone might have virtual reality compatibility according to an article by Christian Today.

iDigital Times said that the company will be distributing "Daydream ready" devices to respond to the certification protocol given Google by the second half of the year. Companies included are Samsung along with LG, HTC, Huawei, ZTE, Xiaomi, Asus, and Alcatel.

Snapdragon 830 Chipset

Base on GSMArena, the Samsung Galaxy 8 and Galaxy S8 handsets are said to feature 4K UHD display with a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. The S8 Edge model will have a 5.5" screen. However, it is still unknown if the S8 model will be the same size as the Edge or perhaps smaller. Both the handsets are said to be packed with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 830 chipset paired with a massive 6GB of random access memory (RAM).

Both handsets will be expected to run the latest OS of Google, Android Nougat. It may have a much bigger battery than its predecessor to keep the handset powered and will feature a USB Type-C port for fast charging and quicker data transfers.

Triple Camera System

Patently Mobile reported that the Samsung Galaxy S8 may come with improved iris scanning technology with a new kind of triple-camera system. Aside from face detection, the said new triple-camera system can scan and check the user's iris and eye structure to get accurate read.
