'Pokemon Go' is Now Playable on Windows 10; Beta Version Gets the Third v1.0.8.0 Patch Notes

"Pokemon Go" for Windows 10 mobile is now available for download via PoGo-UWP. The game is only playable on Android and iOS so those who own smartphones running on Windows started a petition to bring the game to their OS too.

The petition already gathered more than 100,000 signatures and by this time, Microsoft realized that their users wanted "Pokemon Go." There was no big response from the tech giant other than "they are now looking into it."

Now, ST-Apps, a third party developer, stepped in and produced the Windows 10 compatible app of the globally popular game. Windows users can get it through PoGo, the unofficial port of "Pokemon Go" for Microsoft's platform.

Currently, the game is still in beta so it is still lacking in many areas. This means, it does not have most of the game's best features yet like the 3D models thus achieving the full "Pokemon Go" gaming experience is not possible. The download and installation process are not easy to begin with since the game is still in test stage.

It can also be noted that because the PoGo-UWP is an open-source beta, the game is likely to have bugs and other issues. The good news is that, the developer is working hard to improve their version of the "Pokemon Go" app for Windows. In fact, since releasing the first beta version, they have already updated the version thrice.

The developer recently released the latest version v1.0.8.0 to fix the bugs and other flaws, most especially the issues with Pokestops and the Pokemon. As posted on Reddit, the list of PoGo-UWP update is as follows: Fixed a problem that caused you to get Candy and XP when a Pokemon escapes, background on catching screen replaced with original, fixed PokeStop floating over map, added app version on both login screen and game page, did huge re-factoring on view models, trying to fix problem that is causing Pokestops to not show up when in motion, and working on making maintenance easier.

With the fast pace of the Pokemon Go app development for Windows 10, it is possible that Windows users will soon experience the kind of exciting gameplay that Android and iOS users are enjoying right now. Here's how to install "Pokemon Go" on Window 10 mobile:
