‘Resident Evil 7’ Release Date, News & Update: VR Compatibility Promises To Be Grand
Capcom is committed to making “Resident Evil 7” another blockbuster and much of that falls on the VR compatibility expected to highlight its features upon release.
The game is not expected until January, 2017 thought the people behind the horror-game promise something special. In fact, Capcom didn’t hide the fact that development costs hit the roof though the company managed to balance the expenses from getting out of hand.
Controlled costs without sacrificing quality
All this was revealed by Capcom in a Q&A with Gaming Bolt. The developers emphasized on the use of tools to help keep the development cost in control without sacrificing the game quality expected for the upcoming horror game.
“We believe we have succeeded in optimizing our development process via fundamental technologies including our 3D scanning system, lighting and shading, which allowed us to minimize additional costs while achieving high-quality development.”
“Resident Evil 7” was shown of at E3 with gamers getting a front seat on what the game will be offering. A trailer of that can be viewed below.
How much for a copy of “Resident Evil 7”?
With the excitement spurred, the next question for gamers who plan to play “Resident Evil 7” is how much it will cost. Attaching the VR feature does hint at a pricier game version which hopefully will not be unreasonable.
This is despite the marked improvements that “Resident Evil 7” has to offer. 3D scanning, shading and lighting have improved and those alone could account for ramped up costs. There were some glitches seen when the game debuted at E3 though all that are expected to be resolved before it officially launches in 2017.
“Resident Evil 7” will come out with versions for the PS4, Xbox One and the PC with the game taking off from the events of “Resident Evil 6”. There will be a brand new protagonist and the game will be played using a first-person perspective.
Capcom reveals that the game takes place in a rural area of the southern United States in and around a large plantation mansion, PSU reported.
