Assassin's Creed 3 Release Date: New Screenshots Depicts Incredible Melee Combat In MultiPlayer Mode (See Here)

Ubisoft has released a new batch of screenshots from Assassin's Creed III that depict the multiplayer section of the game including the Revolutionary War open-world battle mode.

Assassin's Creed 3's multiplayer mode is shaping up to be an entire game on its own. The Ubisoft designers told CVG in a recent interview that Assassin's Creed 3's will feature a prominent multiplayer narrative unlike its predecessors.

"The multiplayer is so big today that it's already a game on its own," game director Damien Kieken told CVG. "We've been given the right to develop the Abstergo storyline since the beginning, which is a big responsibility."

Familiar multiplayer modes from the previous games will be returning with assassin's hunting each other through maps. But the game will also introduce new modes like the 2-4 player cooperative Wolf Pack mode, where the team of players must work together to assassinate 25 waves of A.I. targets. The mode will have a time limit for each round that will decrease as the players continue playing.

Player who continues to progress in the multiplayer mode will also find all sorts of cool hidden items such as character dossiers.

"As you progress in the game and level up your character, you access these files and videos," Kiehen told CVG. "Every month you'll have new challenges to unlock new content that will continue the storyline throughout the year."

Assassin's Creed III is developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and Microsoft Windows. The game releases in North America for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on Oct. 30. The Wii U version will follow on Nov. 18 when the console launches and a Microsoft Windows version is next on Nov. 20.
