Rockstar Games Hints at 'GTA 6' or 'Red Dead Redemption 2' Release

Rockstar Games has been having a ball. They are credited for not one but three very successful ongoing series, namely "Grand Theft Auto," "Red Dead Redemption," and "Max Payne." In fact, fans are already anticipating the arrival of "GTA 6" and "Red Dead Redemption 2" following both games' massive mainstream success. It seems that we are one step closer to getting those games in our consoles, though, as the studio has hinted on some upcoming releases very soon.

Gamespot reports that Take-Two, the company that owns Rockstar Games nad 2K Games, reported the results of its first fiscal of 2017 ending June 30 with a net revenue of $311.6 million. According to the report, the main contributors to the massive figure are "GTA 5," "NBA 2K16," and "Battleborn." When "GTA 5" was released in 2013, it earned a massive $800 million worldwide, equating to about 11.21 million copies sold. Within just six weeks after its release, Rockstar reported to have shipped about 29 million copies of the game. It also became the best-selling digital release on the PlayStation Store.

According to the Mirror, the report also hinted that the studio is hard at work to bring even more new material to its consumers. The report read, "Rockstar Games also is hard at work on some exciting future projects that will be revealed soon."

This may be an indication that "Red Dead Redemption 2" or "GTA 6" are finally arriving in 2017 or 2018. Gamescom 2016 is just around the corner, so fans are speculating that Rockstar Games would take the opportunity to announce or even just hint at new material for either of the two highly anticipated games. The latest rumor even says that the "Red Dead Redemption 2" will have more than one main characters, compared to the previous iteration that only majorly featured John Marston.

Check back for the latest on Rockstar Games, and whether or not they will be releasing "GTA 6" or "Red Dead Redemption" in the foreseeable future.
