NFL Monday Night Football Broncos Vs Chargers Results Simulated In Madden NFL 13: Peyton Manning Vs Phillip Rivers

The Denver Broncos kept Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers' offense off of the field by gaining yards with precision passing, a strong running game and controlling the time of possession battle to defeat the Chargers 34 to 24 on "Monday Night Football."

Peyton Manning was superb and completed 30 of 37 passes for 283 yards and two touchdowns as the Broncos scored early and often against San Diego Chargers, scoring three first-half touchdowns en route to a 21-10 first-half lead.

Demaryius Thomas caught nine of Peyton's passes for 125 yards and two scores. Jacob Tamme added six receptions for 73 yards to help Manning reach 1,782 passing yard for the season thus far.

The Broncos' defense made sure that when Rivers had the ball, he had little to no time to make a play. However Rivers kept the Chargers in the game by making a few big passing plays. He finished the game going 21 of 31 for 243 yards passing and three touchdowns. Most of those yards came in the fourth quarter when Rivers lead San Diego on two touchdown drives to make the game closer than it actually was.

The early lead by the Broncos forced the Chargers to throw the ball and limited Ryan Mathews to only 8 carries for 53 yards with no touchdowns. Malcolm Floyd led the Chargers with 82 yards receiving.

Willis McGahee had a big rushing game for the Broncos. He gained 107 yards on 20 carries with two rushing touchdowns. He also caught three passes for 21 yards.

After the Chargers scored on an 18-play drive late in the fourth quarter to make it 24-27, The Broncos answered with a 13-play TD drive to score the final points of the game making the final score 34-24 as the Broncos defeated San Diego and gained sole-possession of first place in the AFC West.
