According to IGN, there are two very basic things a "No Man's Sky" player needs to do while traveling across planets. The first is to scan and tag each creature or plant and upload the information in exchange for credits. The compensation may be minuscule, but it would help along the way.
The second thing to do is to make a habit of checking a planet's resources upon landing. The information should be at the lower left side of the screen. However, a planet with loads of one particular resource may buy it for a lower price than if the player leaps into another planet to sell his or her collected items.
"No Man's Sky" also provides orange drop pods that is labeled with orange signal scanners, where players can upgrade their suits for more storage space. This is great for those who have excelled at mining and need more space. IGN also recommends finding and selling the Atlas Stones, as it can definitely get the player a shiny new ship, but some players advise actually advise against this. Why?
Some commenters or players say that the Atlas Stones found in "No Man's Sky"'s various planets must not be sold or let go of immediately, as it has a vital role in the game, once the player gets to the end of the universe. Of course, we won't spoil that for you, so keep those stones handy, just in case you reach the end sooner rather than later.
Jordan Erica Webber over at The Guardian has some sage advice for "No Man's Sky" explorers. She recommends engaging with aliens and learning their language to better understand what items they may be in need of. This is another path to earning some good ol' units, after all.
