‘Pokemon Go’ Latest Tips & Tricks: Players Urged To Pay More Attention To IV Than CP

For hooked “Pokemon Go” players, a lot of attention falls on the ‘Combat Points’ (CP) rather than the ‘Individual Values’ (IV). The latter is classified a secret stat, meaning it can only be known through the aid of some online calculators.

Focus on the CP is understandable since it includes the attack, defense, and stamina. That more than makes it an important stat. But when it comes to determining how good the “Pokemon Go” character is, the secret may be in the IV which determines the level of power that critter carries.

Time to focus on IV?

With that revelation, the stat which can only be extracted through the aid of apps like Poke Assistant or some IV calculators available may be crucial for players hooked to the game. It shows how deep some “Pokemon Go” gamers have gone.

There could be some exceptions such as gamers fully aware of the presence of ‘secret stats’. These have long been around and Niantic is likely aware of it.

Don’t let ‘Geekiness’ spoil the party

Regardless, the IV stats should not be around to spoil the party. Despite the fact that the game continues to grow in popularity, it is still a pastime or game that offers nothing more than friendly challenges.

Of course, there is the race to be the best “Pokemon Go” player. That title depends on how in-depth they are willing to go, including the ‘geekiness’ that comes with it.

As Eurogamer points out, “Pokemon Go” is a combination of hidden base stats, the IV, and levels which dictate the CP. Pokemon characters with high CP are not exactly stronger meaning it all boils down to the level that they are in. In short, they are not god-like and can be beaten.

Like other games, “Pokemon Go” is also about strategy. Thus, another challenge gamers may want to consider is conquering the high-level Pokemon characters – something witty gamers have done.
