iPhone 7 Latest News, Release Date & Update: Base and Plus Model Confirmed For September

iPhone 7 Latest News, Release Date and Update: There Will Only Be Two Of A Kind This September

Like it or not, Apple will be unveiling the iPhone 7 in a couple of weeks. Most of the specs have already been spilled in the grapevine but the latest on the Apple flagship is that there will only be two coming out and not the speculated three.

No iPhone Pro, just iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus

Back in June, word came out that Apple could be coming out with three variants of the iPhone 7. Two of them would be 4.7-inch, one of which will reportedly retain the 3.5 mm jack. The third was previously believed to be the iPhone Pro, one sporting a dual-lens camera.

Thanks to a recent report by Mac Otakara, it has been confirmed that there will only be two debuting next month and it will be the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus, both no longer with the iconic 3.5 mm jack. Aside from that, the other rumored specs seem to be spot on for now. That includes the iPhone 7 relying on an A10 chip, a flush capacitive Home button, bigger storage and improved cameras.

With the 3.5 mm jack out, the iPhone 7 will come out thinner as speculated with nothing much more to show. Again, Apple has held off on the major upgrades for the upcoming flagship as it saves the best for 2017 when the iPhone 8 takes center stage. Sticking to two models is sensible since the last thing that Apple will want to do is offer a third device from a line that isn’t exactly expected to be a hit.

The iPhone 7 is seen more as an offshoot to the iPhone 6s with the thin mold and internal improvements the only thing to look forward to. Either way, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are expected to be unveiled on Sept. 7with pre-orders expected to commence two days after.
