When it comes to iPhone 7, rumors give rise to more rumors and the latest to do the rounds is that Apple will launch the always highly-anticipated device with a 256GB onboard storage. If reports are to be believed, the tech giant will be dumping its 16GB variant and add the 256GB variant. Thus, buyers will have the option of purchasing a 32, 64, 128 or 256 GB phone.

However, similar to what the company did with its dual-camera option, the 256GB internal storage feature may only be made available to the iPhone 7 Plus variant. A source close to Apple has expressed an interest of a 256GB NAND flash storage. NAND flash suppliers have also raised prices due to increasing demand.

However, according to DigiTimes, if iPhone 7 sales do not go into overdrive, NAND flash prices may also start falling in the first quarter of 2017. The next generation iPhone is set to be fitted with Apple A10 chipset and 2GB RAM.

iPhone 7 will also offer a bigger display like that of iPhone 6 Plus. Other specifications will remain more or less the same in both the devices. Much like music to the ears, Apple may also replace its 3.5mm earphone jack with the lightning port. Whether that goes down well with the users remains to be seen.

If implemented, the port will be used both for charging the device and earphone connectivity. For stereo audio, a second speaker grill will be there. The upcoming handset may also see a touch-sensitive home button instead of the traditional button used in current devices. Apple, who has the patent for this technology, may be implementing it in the device. Functions for the home button may remain the same, writes The Bitbag.

Apple may also launch iPhone 7 in two more colors, blue and space black. A bigger battery is also expected and the new processor will also improve battery life. The above-mentioned specifications are all based on the rumors circulating on the Internet. Apple has not yet confirmed any date as to when it will release its iPhone 7.
