'Vikings' Season 4 Episode 11: Lagertha's New Lover Astrid Responsible For Ragnar's Sons Declaring War On The World?
The women are taking over in "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 11. Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) and Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) will be battling it out to become the rightful ruler of Kattegat. But who will control the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel)? It looks like new character (and Lagertha's girlfriend) Astrid (Josefin Asplund) could convince the men to wage war on the world!
Astrid is one of the new characters that will be introduced in "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 11. The show creator Michael Hirst has confirmed that Astrid is Lagertha's new lover, who appeared in the Comic-Con trailer kissing the Earl of Hedeby. However, she may have an even bigger role to play when the show returns on History.
Lagertha's New Lover Astrid Convinces Ragnar's Sons To Go To War In 'Vikings' Season 4 Episode 11?
Game & Guide has previously reported that Lagertha could use Astrid to alienate Aslaug from Ragnar's sons. Michael Hirst already hinted on the new character being "modern" and "a breath of fresh air." It is possible that Astrid will convince Ubbe, Hvitserk, Sigurd and Ivar that they can be more powerful by being as "modern" as she is.
Ragnar's sons are not the only ones who will be smitten with Lagertha's new lover. Michael Hirst also teased on the possibility that Ragnar himself will be interested in Astrid as well.
Ragnar Meets Astrid In 'Vikings' Season 4 Episode 11
The "Vikings" creator revealed that Ragnar meets Astrid when he visits Lagertha. However, it doesn't turn out so well for the King of Kattegat in "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 11.
"Astrid appears, and isn't in awe of him at all, and kind of teases him," Hirst shared with Entertainment Weekly. But that doesn't ruin things for Ragnar Lothbrok. "He loves it, of course," Hirst revealed.
It certainly sounds like Astrid will eventually become just as powerful as Lagertha. Find out more about the character when "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 11 airs on History this fall.
