‘Power Rangers’ Reboot Release Date, News & Update: Cutting-Edge Technology In Costumes And More Details Revealed By Director!

After two decades, "Power Rangers" will get a reboot next year and an entire generation of fans will get to see their superheroes' colorful costumes and acrobatic stunts once more. Director Dean Israelite revealed that the suits of the new Power Rangers are equipped with cutting-edge technology.

Dean Israelite Talks About 'Power Rangers'

"Power Rangers" reboot will be helmed by Dean Israelite, director of "Project Almanac" in 2015. Israelite sat down with Empire to discuss his plans for the 90's hit TV series.

Two decades has passed since "Power Rangers" hit the TV screens. The gap from the time it was first launched to this day is something that Dean Israelite needs to consider.

One of the changes will be with the suites. Israelite said that the "Power Rangers" are made with Weta Workshop with new cutting-edge technology.

Weta Workshop is a New Zealand-based special effects company that worked on "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" trilogies previously, Comic Book said. Dean Israelite is confident that he will be able to update the settings accordingly in "Power Rangers" reboot.

"I grew up on it and I have all the same questions other people have," Israelite said. "How are we going to update this? How will it exist in the contemporary superhero cinema canon?"

Natural & Grounded Approach

While have been quite skeptical with 90's show remakes like the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle," Dean Israelite said he's trying to achieve a natural and more grounded approach for the reboot. Casting Elizabeth Banks and award-winner actor Bryan Cranston simply shows that "Power Rangers" reboot is something to look forward to.

Dean Israelite said that Bryan Cranston was skeptical towards "Power Rangers" reboot like the rest of the cast at first. After seeing a series of footage, Cranston saw its potential and got excited. Israelite promised that it would be thrilling particularly the updates that they made with Zordon.

Bryan Cranston will portray the "Power Rangers'" disembodied mentor, Zordon. "Power Rangers" reboot is slated to hit the theaters on March 24, 2017.
