'Pokemon GO' Tips & Tricks, News & Update: What The Appraisal Feature Is And How It Works To Identify Your Strengths

"Pokemon Go" recently acquired a new update, which includes the Pokemon appraisal. The new option now allows "Pokemon Go" players to know more about their creatures' attack and defense capabilities.

The "Pokemon Go" update will let team leaders educate "Pokemon Go" players about the attack and defense of their existing Pokemon. A gym is not required to communicate with the team leader.

To get the Pokemon appraisal, tap the round button on the lower right portion of the screen, which will open the menu. Tap the Appraise option, instead of trading the Pokemon for candy.

CNet revealed that the team leader, who may be Blanche, Candela or Spark, depending on which team the "Pokemon Go" player belongs to, will appear onscreen to ask if they wish to get more information about Pokemon. Tap the screen and read the text. Tap the screen again to proceed with the conversation.

The team leader will indicate the strengths and weaknesses of the Pokemon through different screens. The team leader will also provide some details about the individual values (IVs) of the Pokemon.

IVs are hidden stats that will determine the strength and power of any given Pokemon in the game. The "Pokemon Go" team leader will also indicate if the Pokemon is dominant or quite weak. Some "Pokemon Go" players believe that bigger Pokemon can deal more damage, while smaller ones can dodge attacks more efficiently. Niantic Labs has yet to confirm the relationship between size and abilities. Capturing small Pokemon, however, can lead to certain achievements.

GamePress provided a list of all the comments that a team leader might state in "Pokemon Go," together with the IV that pertains to the comment. The appraisals differ among Team Mystic, Team Valor and Team Instinct. An IV percentage of 82.2 to 100 will yield the best comment from the team leader, which means that the Pokemon is very powerful and can accomplish many things.

A percentage of 0 to 48.9 can mean that the Pokemon may not be too good in battle. The top IV in the list is 15, while the lowest ranges from 0 to 7. More updates and details on "Pokemon Go" are expected soon.
