Following the release of "No Man's Sky" a few weeks ago, what was thought to be one of the most anticipated games of 2016 turned out to be a disappointment. Hello Games founder Sean Murray admitted earlier that the space exploration game would be very divisive, but players of the game have apparently put a new meaning onto this.
Players have expressed disappointment over the game's missing features and thought of them as false advertising and a lot of them are pushing for refunds. Now that the clamor for refunds has grown to unexpected proportions, it has been reported that refund requests are already being accepted.
GameRant reports that Amazon, Steam and Sony have discreetly began facilitating requests for refunds for purchases of "No Man's Sky." Notably, refunds were being given regardless of the amount of hours that a player has spent playing the game. This goes directly against Steam's policy wherein a request has to be made within 14 days from purchase and the game should have been played for less than two hours.
However, getting a refund might take a while since it has been reported that it would take a certain amount of tries before a request for refund can be accepted. This has a very adverse effect on the game, as it has been reported that the amount of active players has dropped by 90 percent since its recent release.
For those who decide to stick with the developers until good things come, there are a lot of changes coming up for the game. The issues are being addressed by the developers as "No Man's Sky" version 1.07 update goes live on PS4. This new update weighs around 671MB, which is also called as the game's largest update ever, and is a direct response to the backlash received by "No Man's Sky," reports PSU.
"No Man's Sky" is a sci-fi space exploration game wherein players get to visit many different planets in many different universes. The main gist of the game revolves around harvesting resources on planets to improve a player's stats as he heads into the center of the universe.
