'Pokemon Go' Latest News & Updates: Are We Finally Getting Trading And Legendary Pokemon Soon?

"Pokemon Go" players have found, since its release, that the game has been missing some rather important features that are native to the main Nintendo games: battling, trading, and Legendary Pokemon. Although "Pokemon Go" contains a version of battling that seems somewhat similar to combat we all know and love, trading and legendaries still aren't in the game, despite the original trailer showing Mewtwo in a battle.

Some digging done in "Pokemon Go"'s game code revealed that both missing features may finally be appearing in an update sooner or later. Forbes reports that certain strings relating to trades in the game's programming. A trade search function will apparently be available, but obviously it's still unverified as to whether that'll work globally or locally.

As for Legendary Pokemon, certain strings about that have also popped up in "Pokemon Go"'s code. There's an "activity_catch_legend_pokemon" string sitting in there somewhere, and obviously that's going to come into play when there are legendaries to catch in the game world. Where they can be found, or how they can be found, is something we also don't know yet.

One other thing that also seems like it's going to get an update are incense items in the game. "Pokemon Go" only has one kind of incense that attracts all kinds of Pokemon to your location, and strings relating to different kinds of incense were also discovered. Spicy, cool, and floral incense were identified in the programming, and speculation runs rampant that each incense variant will only attract certain types of Pokemon.

Hopefully developer Niantic applies these changes sooner rather than later, as "Pokemon Go" needs a shot in the arm to keep its players interested in it. The number of users have been dropping off steadily since its release last month due to the repetitive nature of the game, which barely plays like its counterparts on Nintendo devices.
