Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on Wii U Gets a Launch Trailer (Watch it Here!)

The Wii U version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 wil finally offer Nintendo fans what they've been wanting to do ever since Bowser first endeavored to kidnap Peach all those years ago, let Mario rage out and donkey kick that smug smirk off of that overgrown turtle's snout. Or, at least, two characters dressed like Bowser and Mario. Check it out below!

Luckily, all the characters that Xbox and PS3 gamers had to wait for will be avaialable for the Wii U version as soon as the game launches. They include:

* Lili's butler Sebastian
* Miharu Hirano
* Dr. Boskonovitch
* thin Bob
* Violet
* the boss of Tekken Tag Tournament 1 and 2, Unknown, are all coming to Namco Bandai's newest fighter.
* Ancient Ogre, the first form of Tekken 3's end boss
* Angel, a palette swap of Devil that debuted all the way back in Tekken 2
* Michelle Chang, mother to Julia, and a fan favorite
* Kunimitsu, ninja-esque former protégé of Yoshimitsu

Also seen in the trailer is the return of the Tekken ball mode, Tekken's take on volleyball, where players smack around a ball to do the damage instead of whalloping their opponent directly.  And new to the Wii U version as well is the Mushroom Battle mode, where the famous Mario 'shrooms bounce around the arena, either shrinking or enlarging players to gigantic proportions.

Should make for some more interesting costume possibilities. From a recent trailer, we've seen Anna as Zero Suit Samus, Asuka as Zelda, Heihachi as Mario, Jin Kazama as Link, Alex as Bowser (though I think a Yoshi costume would be more appropriate) or Lee Chaolan as Fox McCloud. I could really see Sebastian or Dr. B as the old man in the cave from the original Legend of Zelda, but maybe that's just me. This gives fans of the franchise an opportunity to play as almost every character that has existed in the series, just like the PS3 and Xbox versions.

As in the original Tekken Tag Tournament, matches involve each player selecting two fighters to fight with. Players are able to switch their fighters out at any time during the fight. This will allow the inactive character to gradually recover some energy from the damage that they may have received during the fight. Player can also pull off tag hit, which are achieved by both player selected characters participating in a combo.

Similar to past Tekken releases, the game features character-customization and "Bound" hits-strikes that slam an airborne opponent to the ground and stun them so that combos can be extended.

For Tekken enthusiasts, the Wii U Pro Controller should feel a little more familiar than the console's tablet style controller.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is out for the Wii U tomorrow, Nov. 18.
